Elton John show live at Madrid 2014

Yesterday, 1st of November 2014, the Palacio de los Deportes of Madrid had the pleasure of welcoming one of the best pop-rock singers ever, Sir Elton John, whose 5-decade career and his magestic knowledge of the piano indicate he is a top and a talented artist. I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the show and I loved every minute of it.
After a quick 20-minute pre-show by Bright Light Bright Light, Elton John appeared on stage with his famous instrumental number "Funeral for a Friend/Love lies bleeding", which set the mood for the show. Soon, Elton's classic "Bennie and the Jets" shined. As the concert went on, Elton John progressively improved and grew, singing themes like "Candle in the wind", "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road", "Believe", "Philadelphia Freedom" and totally by surprise "Daniel". He slowly got more and more confidence with his beloved public, which cheered after every song. He managed to get a great ovation after "I guess that's why they call it the blues" and "Your song", one of his star numbers.
After the show reached a bit more than an hour, he kindly thanked Madrid for being such a good audience. He also told us about a recent knee operation which didn't seem to disturb him at all thanks to his dear public. After some amazing performances like "Don't let the sun go down on me", "I'm still standing", a massive "Saturday Night's alright", "The bitch is back", and an unexpected "Sorry seems to be the hardest word", which wasn't originally in the program, he also gave us some unforgettably emotive moments after having signed some autographs to the luckiest of the 11000 fans who were watching him playing 3 encore songs after having sang, he as well, the Spanish "Oé, Oé, Oé": A thrilling performance of his UK number 1 "Sacrifice", a vivid "Crocodile Rock" and he ended the two and a half-hour concert with believing the very best by representing his successful medley "Circle of life/Can you feel the love tonight?", which was a tear-provoking song.
On the whole, the originally called "Follow the yellow brick road" became a top "Greatest hits" concert which demonstrated the highly skilled musicians Elton and his band are. I personally missed one of my favourite ballads, "Someone saved my life tonight", but I certainly wasn't disappointed, in fact, Elton made us live a magical night with a huge climax which very few artist are able to create. I also understand that this was a very special concert for Elton as, of course, it was the celebration of his top album "Goodbye yellow brick road", published in 1973.
Thank you, sir Elton John, please come back soon to Madrid!
We love you and we desire you the very best.
