Cien años de "La canción de amor de J. Alfred Prufrock"/ A century enjoying "The Love song of J. Alfred Prufrock"

En junio (no en una noche de octubre) de 1915, un joven T.S Eliot, motivado por su amigo Ezra Pound, veía cómo la revista "Poetry" imprimía ejemplares de una de sus obras, en la cual había estado trabajando desde 1910/1911, se trataba de "La canción de amor de J. Alfred Prufrock". Este escrito está considerado el primer poema modernista y jugaría un papel fundamental para la carrera de Eliot e influiría a otros escritores. Eliot ganó el Nobel en 1948 por su sobresaliente contribución a las letras.
Es indiscutible la maestría con la que este poema está escrito. En él se tratan diversos temas como la fugacidad y banalidad de la vida, así como el amor y el desamor, haciendo estremecedoras metáforas y aludiendo a autores como Shakespeare.
Personalmente, me parece un gran poema y contiene algunos de mis versos favoritos. Además, es cierto que en mis propios escritos hay una indudable la influencia de este texto. También, me leí este verano "Cuatro Cuartetos" para profundizar mi conocimiento sobre Eliot.
Por lo cual, he decidido hacerle un homenaje este gran autor recordando que "Prufrock" cumplirá dentro de poco un siglo y así conmemorar una vez más su notable estilo.

In June (not in a soft October night) of 1915, a young TS. Eliot, instigated by his friend Ezra Pound, saw how the on-going magazine "Poetry" printed out the copies of one of his most important works, in which he had been working on since 1910/1911. This was "The Love song of J. Alfred Prufrock". This piece of writing is considered the first modernist poem and it would play a relevant role on Eliot's career and it would influence other writers. Eliot won the Nobel Prize in 1948 for his outstanding contribution to literature.
He was a great master of the language and this is demonstrated by the high quality that this poem has. In it, several themes are dealt with, such as how banal life is or love and the end of love, creating thrilling metaphors and making references to other authors like Shakespeare.
Personally, I think it's a wonderful poem and it has some of my favourite lines. It is also true that, in my own writings there's an indubitable influence of this text. I also read this summer "Four Quartets" to deepen my knowledge of Eliot.
That's why I've decided to honour this great author remembering that "Pruforck" will soon celebrate its first century and that way, commemorating, once more, his massive style.
